Too many friends for one picture
Wednesday I served up a pot of homemade turkey noodle soup from the Christmas turkey to my friends and neighbors (and yes that is Mike, it was his day off). It was a morning of knitting, crocheting, needlepointing, beading, and talking followed by a book exchange. Everyone was anxious to hear about each others holidays and plans for the rest of the winter. Being surrounded by such wonderful women is truely good for the soul. I know I have forwarded this you tube on transcending women to several of you, but if you haven't watched it, it is worth the time. I am currently reading Kelly's book.(one that didn't go into the exchange)

Picture of the day theme this year has already become a good focus away from my travels through grief of last year. It seems I have moved from getting through the current day to at least enjoying the present day. Eventually I am sure I will move onto the future. I was reminded yesterday that reading this blog has been helpful to others. Last friday my tennis buddy Michelle's Dad died. Her mom Kay, has been a reader this past year. I hope some of the quotes from last year are helpful to her now. There is no easy path through grief and it is truely a personal experience. The support of friends and family is invaluable. It is for them that we put one foot in front of the other, put a smile on our face and get out there and continue. Life goes on and that is good. Thinking of you Kay, it will get better, even though the hole in your heart never goes away.

Thank you, Linda. You have given me inspiration on many days. Your quotes oin life and death meant a lot while my Don was dealing with his illness. You didn't know it, but we had a connection from day one. Isn't that wonderful?
