The sun came out today but the temperature high was 7 degrees. I drove Mike to work this morning because the roads are still snow covered and icy in spots. The temperature on the car thermometer registered -12. Of course I didn't have my camera to record it but if I had it would have been the picture of the day. So instead I have this lovely picture of Mike holding an icicle that is nearly as long as he is tall.

Hi Mike!! Brrrrr, we had a cold day here-no school. I am totally convinced the teachers like it more than the kids! Although it is a beautiful sunny day it is too cold to go out and do anything, I hear Lake Erie is going to freeze over for the first time in years sometime next week. Stay warm and know thoughts of all the Stanfords are close.
Linda: I forgot about your photo of the day so I'm now just getting caught up. Great idea! But my favorite are the old photos of you--what a neat project. Someday I'm hoping I'll have the time and you'll have the interest to help me do the same with our slides and photos!! This is crazy weather isn't it. But we're crazy enough to drive to Cleveland twice in this sub zero temps to buy a used car for Tim!! Janet
Well, you are impressive! One thing I know I could not do anymore is drive on ice and snow. I have been in the south too long and totally out of practice. We are complaining greatly down here about our frigid temps - we are very wimpy!!!
Loved the picture of Mike - I can't remember ever seeing an icicle that long!
Warm feelings your way!
